Thirty One Days Of Happiness Tips Day 12

It
is likely none of the happiness tips I have blogged about so far
have surprised you. It makes sense that plenty of sleep, a balanced
diet, exercise, a decluttered living space and such can contribute to
happiness. Every now and then I come across something said to be
linked to greater happiness which surprises me. Some research
claims people who sleep on the left side of the bed are more likely
to be happy.
After
reading this claim I did some more research on the internet. Whether
the left side is determined when lying in bed or standing at the
bottom of the bed and looking at it is a point of contention and some
articles don't define what they mean by the left side. With this in
mind, I wouldn't worry too much about which side of the bed you sleep
on!
One
study had 3,000 participants. The study found those who slept on the
left side of the bed have a greater tendency to be happy and
positive. They also have the ability to handle a heavy workload better than those who sleep on
the right side.
This
study showed people who slept on the left side of the bed were-
- four per cent more likely to be in a good mood when they woke up
- 9.5 per cent more likely to be optimistic in outlook
- eight per cent more likely to have friends
- eight per cent more likely to have a job they liked
Other
research goes into detail about why individuals sleep on the side of
the bed they do. That makes interesting reading but isn't relevant
here. But if you are curious, check out http://selfavenue.com/which-side-of-the-bed-do-you-sleep-on-and-why/
